Bruises and Abrasions

For our primary research we had to find pictures of real bruises, black eyes and bloody wounds. I found this extremely difficult because I could not tell which were real and which were fake. After a lot of searching I managed to find some pictures.

After moisturizing my face and pulling back my hair I applied my basic corrective makeup.

I guess I got too excited about this exercise and forgot to take process shots! I will just walk you through my steps.
1.) I first took a baby wipe and wiped off the area where my bruise was going to be. I chose my right eye.
2.) I then took some yellow from my bruise wheel and applied it around my eye to create the shape of my bruise. I made sure my yellowness did not look like a circle because no bruise is a perfect shape!
3.) Take a q-tip and add spots of green to where your bruise has the most discoloration (Be sure to reference your research for this step)
4.) Reference your research to see where there is the most red on your bruise. Then add wet blood on top of the green spots that you added.
5.) Add purple on top of your wet blood, but be sure not to add too much because you will hide your bruise!
6.) The next step is to create a sympathy bruise! I added a streak of purple under my opposite eye.
7.) Creating the abrasion! Start off by adding a thin line of latex to where you want the cut to be. I chose my right eyebrow. Next, use a q-tip to add wet blood then dried blood to the DRY latex. To make your cut look bloody, dip the end of a paint brush into the fake blood. For the last step, tilt your head so that the fake blood can drip down your face. MAKE SURE YOU DON'T GET THE FAKE BLOOD IN YOUR EYE.

Here is the finished product:

I do have to admit that this was my favorite lesson and the best Halloween makeup I have ever done.
